This session will focus on current market trends and the practical, concrete skills psychologists need to reach potential clients and connect with referral sources who could benefit from psychological services.
Participants will learn how to use basic marketing principles and techniques to build relationships, communicate relevant information that can facilitate effective healthcare decision-making, develop new services to meet emerging community needs, and make the best use of resources to remain viable in the evolving marketplace.
Special attention will be given to multi-channel communication and how practicing psychologists can use websites, social media, and other electronic tools to create a win-win-win scenario, benefiting psychologists, the profession, and the general public.
Dr. Ballard will provide specific examples of how practitioners can use social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook, and Twitter, the opportunities and challenges these technologies present, and risk management strategies for addressing clinical, legal, and ethical issues that may arise.
